My Weekend Wood Stacking Adventures

Like I was saying, we were very busy this weekend.  Luckily power was restored in full Friday night and we could start getting back to normal things.

Like taking pictures of the pups.  Katie is on the left, Sammy on the right.

Once some of the clean up was done we played.  You can see all the wood we cut and stacked in the back for drying.  It still needs to be split, but that might be a spring time thing.

Do you you see Sammy in this one?

Katie got in a little running too.  They were so happy to goof off and chase each other.

See those big pieces on the right?  That is from the big oak that feel on the power lines.  Each one of those probably means a nice warm night.  Crazy how big they are -- and heavy!!

More goofing off was order...

And life is funny sometimes, because as I was browsing my google reader the other day and I ran across this post from What's Up Whimsy which had this picture ... which I of course pinned.

...hmmm,  and now it looks like I have my own version!

With a couple of silly goldies to boot.

And this one is perfect for a reference to how big those crazy logs are!  The biggest is almost as tall as Sammy!

And lastly, due to the storm, our Halloween party was pushed back a week, so this past weekend we played Halloween.  Here I am with the mister.  I'm a pirate.  He's a bony zombie.

And you know.

He won scariest costume.  Craziness!!

Cheers to a good week and hope you are smiling no matter what you have going on!!

Till Next Year Halloween - muah!

This year's Halloween was an awesome reminder of how much I love it!

Carving pumpkins!

Scooping out the guts!

Using those little teenie tiny carving tools to make up a design in the side of a pumpkin -- while wearing your costume!

Setting up a scary scene for the trick-o-treaters!  (no dogs were harmed in the making of this scene, although she does put on a good "help I'm in jail" face, doesn't she?)

Finding new ways to use an old mask to scare up the light on our front step.  Spooky!

Lighting up the pumpkins -- mine was a haunted house with bats, full moon, and clouds.

Mr. Happy whipped up what he called a traditional scowl face.  He seriously had this guy carved up and ready to scare before I had even finished scooping out my pumpkin's guts.

All in all, we had more trick-o-treaters than we thought, we have fun carving pumpkins together, we played Halloween themed games while sitting in front of the fire, and I must say that we were all exhausted in the end.

Even the pup crashed out on her own dog bed by 7:30 -- unheard of!

Hope you had a hauntingly good time this weekend!

Now that it's Monday again, I am reflecting on the fact that it is now November - YOWZA!

Falling for Fall

What a fun week... I enjoyed all the excitement over doggy halloween costumes, Creative Tuesday's curtain theme, showing you my renewed footstool, and all the apple cupcake madness and here!!

The weather has turned chilly again in NY and most of the leaves are now on the ground; so, I thought it would be fun to reflect on a few true fall snaps!

And Katie, the Mr. and I want to wish you a ghostly and creepy Happy Halloween!!

Next week, there is so much more to share!

We are carving pumpkins today, I want to tell you about the Declaration of You, I am styling a photo for  STYL.PLAY.WORK.SHOP hosted by Compai, I want to share the Spiced Carmel Buttercream frosting I made, I am crocheting the last few socks for Operation Caregiver, and I am also picking up an unfinished quilting project... phew!

Have a restful and amazing weekend!  See you on the flipside!

Costume Outtakes

Ahh, Halloween is in the air!  And, I wouldn't be a good doggy mom if I didn't get my little pumpkin ready for Halloween properly, right?

Yes, it's costume time.  I will show you the final shot closer to the 31st, but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to start Monday off with a few bloopers from our recent costume photoshoot.

These really speak for themselves!

Hope you are having an outrageously fun Monday!
