Mellow Yellow: Lego Sumo

MellowYellowBadge

Remembering lego's and the creativity they fostered = happiness!
Remember lego's? Well, I wandering into a Lego store last weekend and to my surprise it was a really fantastic place!! Their were a ton of unique lego displays (all a perfect kid height) and the sumo wrestlers and karate chopping guy were two of my favorites!!
The best part of the store was the back wall (which I am smacking my head that I didn't get a picture of) that held a zillion different shapes and colors of individual lego pieces. In hind sight, I think I would have given out lego pieces for a self made design as a wedding gift. How cute would that have been? You could even pick whatever colors matched your wedding!! I may still need to work this into a creative gift or party in the near future!
I have a few more lego creations to share through out the remainder of the week. What lego creation do you remember from earlier years?

Mellow Yellow Monday: Ice Caves

This post is inspired by Mellow Yellow Monday! For more yellowy goodness click here MellowYellowBadge

Just a tiny touch of yellow in today's photos. I am amazed at how much I am starting to see yellow after doing this project for a few weeks now. It's every where and what great reminder to remain positive and happy.

This weekend I went on another hike. This time it was to the Ice Caves at Sam's Point (NY). Once you walk a bit you get to this sign and on the back is an old remnant of what the main sign used to be.

The yellow reads, "...bottom of that ancient sea of 150 million years ago." Sounds like an amazing start to an adventure, doesn't it?

Getting outside in sunny weather for a hike with Mr. Happy and the dog = happiness!

I can't think of a more perfect way to spend some quality time with my family other than getting out for a hike. We climbed Slide Mountain or rather "We Slid Slide Mountain." <-- That was the bumper sticker slogan we can up with on the hike, ha!

Slide Mountain is tucked nicely in the Catskills (NY)... far away from anything. Along the way we saw many things... like huge mushrooms of all colors. When I saw these yellow ones I couldn't think of a more interesting way to start the week with you. Enjoy!

More hiking and weekend adventure pictures coming this week!

Getting a bright, happy and fun postcard in the mail from Spain = happiness!

Postcards are such a fun way to remind someone that you are thinking of them or to tell them a little story! The world would be a better place if we sent each other more postcards! Mucho gracias! Happy Monday!

Mellow Yellow Monday: Drummers

Hearing a good rhythm or music to get your soul dancing = happiness!

I was at a music festival in Rosendale (NY) this past weekend and I will be bringing you several pictures from the event this week! Their was a ton of live music, delicious food, sunshine, and beer tents... all the ingredients of a good time!

This particular duo pictured is from a drummer group, and I will tell you... when I heard them I couldn't help but to dance! It started in my toes, then moved to my feet, and next thing you know my hips were swaying! It reminded me how freeing music can be. How it can really let you release that stress that you carry all the time.

The experience also reminded me that I want to learn how to dance African. Anyone, reading also watch the show on Fox called So You Think You Can Dance? First of all if you don't watch it... WATCH IT. Second, if you do watch it then you saw the jaw dropping, goosebump arousing dance done by the 5 guys last week, right? That was an african dance! And the drums I heard in Rosendale brought that all back to me! Let's kick this week off with some soul awakening drums!
