Creative Tuesday: Purple

It's Creative Tuesday!  Do a little dance, shake all around!  It's that time of the week where I open my sketch pad -- or do I? -- and see what comes out for the theme over at Mr. Toast's Creative Tuesday's assignment!

This week's theme was Purple. yes. As in the color.  As in the creative we come up with should be mostly purple.  I have to admit I was totally stumped.  I mean I could think of purple things like grapes and flowers.  I also thought of drawing something random like a hippo and coloring her purple.

But, in the end I took a totally different direction and even went away from my safe and comfortable color pencils.  It was all spurred by this... a bird house!

Yup, Katie gave me a hand crafted, one of a kind, bird house for Mother's Day!  Isn't she talented!  I'm sure, the mister helped her a little.  I was smitten!!  Been wanting my very own bird house for sometime now!

So, I gathered up my paints.  It's been a long time.. oh how I missed thee Paints!!

And I started to apply purples.  Purples mixed with pink, purples that were mostly blue, purples mixed with orange.. serious.  Check it out!  This unit even comes with blooming tulip gardens!

 I couldn't resist being my spunky self and adoring the front of the house with "Home, Tweet Home!"  And the back with "No Twig, like home"  (likened to No Place, like home)  Fun, right?

Then a large wash with Mod Podge.   Yummy!

And because that wasn't funky enough...out came the fake spanish moss to finish the job!

And there you have it.  A one of a kind, purple infused, ready to move in, freshly painted Purple Love Shack!

Mr. Toast, your incredible sir!  Thank you for the challenging them and I already say YES! to accepting your next challenge!

Love in the Sky!

This amazing sky greeted me this morning!

Hope you are having an amazing day so far!  Happy Valentines Day too!

I am still working through several things I would like to share with you and this week promises to be another jam packet week full of goodness!!

I made Moss and Butterfly Ornaments

I have been wanting to make these for so long and I finally remembered to look for all the supplies!!

For these you will need:

• Glass ornaments that you can take the top off
• things to put in the ornaments... I used green spanish moss
• and these adorable glittery butterflies!

A closer look at these adorable butterflies!!

The moss was so soft and messy.  Made for a lot of fun!!

I started to stash the moss into the glass ornament... looks like there is a creature growing there!

Apparently, moss in plastic bags also attracts purdy puppies too!

Man 'o man... she wanted to play with one of those butterflies in a bad way!

Here is one of the first ones put together... darling wee things, no?

There is a little magic in getting the butterfly through the tiny hole, but really just roll 'em and stash them in.  Yes... it will work!

And voila!  Fun, homemade, personal treats for your tree!

Isn't this time of year putting the biggest amazing smile on your face permanently?  I know it is for me!

Purple Flower

Admiring the spring flowers that are coming into bloom = happiness!

I always enjoy a walk through a flower garden. You don't always know what to expect and the bright cheery colors always leave me feeling refreshed and happy!

Purple Petunias

Starting the day by oohing and ahhing over very pretty flowers = happiness!

Nothing like watering very pretty flowers as a way to shake off the Monday blues and get ready to start the week.
