What a nice weekend. Fall is really starting to settle into the area, the sun was plentiful, and we certainly got outside to take advantage of it!
:: Morning coffee was taken on the couch in the sun rays.
:: Finished off the drive-in movie season by taking Sammy to her first ever drive-in. It wasn't as bad as we thought with two dogs in the back seat. In fact, at one point they were both curled up and sleeping!
:: I cleaned up and organized my sewing desk a bit. Loving the piece of white birch floating around until it finds just the right project. Truth is, I really want to paint on it.
:: I got a bit of sewing in, although I still haven't quite figured out what to do with Prism's. Which is turning into Shattered Prism's.
:: I realized I have a ton of lip chap tubes in my purse and around the house. Found about 4 or 5 more since I took this snap.
:: We must have tired out the dogs well with a bunch of walks, playing in the yards, and doggie get togethers -- since they slept every chance they got.
:: And we went sneaker shopping. I couldn't believe how pretty running shoes have gotten! Too bad I wasn't in need of a new pair. But I can drool, right?
Hope you also had a wonderful weekend! Can't wait to visit and see what you've been up too!

Unplugging Felt Right!
I'm back. Didn't know I was going to be gone for a week, but it did feel good to unplug a bit.
Want to see Sammy jump one more time? She is lining up. Making her approach.
And whoosh! She is over it so elegantly. And just look at those ears flopping as she jumps!
So, where was I? Ah yes, precious, relaxing family time. A reminder to take in the small things and linger a little longer than our busy schedules allow most times.
A a chance to have the biggest belly laughs at puppies with sticks. The simple things!!
Hope you had a stellar weekend and look forward to showing you my latest finish later today! (hint... it's the dress challenge!!)
I'm looking forward to catching up with you and your blogs... I have over 500 posts in my reader, but will make my way through them shortly. I'm sure there is some great inspiration in that reading!!
What have I been up to? Mostly family stuff. Lots of getting outside, soaking in sunshine, and training Sammy. We even ripped out the old floor in our laundry room and are in the process of putting down new tile. My kind of way to spend a long holiday weekend! Never a dull moment in the Happy family.
Did I mention we hiked a bunch over the weekend too? The long walks are good exercise for us all, but they are especially good for draining all that excess puppy energy!
Our walks are through a preserved woods trail around a lake and there are lots of fallen logs that we simply hop over.
Watch out Katie... Sammy is coming through!

A Weekend Ramble
Oh Monday... I sat down to share a few words with you and have ended up writing tomrrow and Wednesday's stories. Sigh. But what to do about today's blank canvas? Perhaps a little ramble about the weekend?
There was lots of sunlight pouring through the windows and I admit that I have a hard time resisting my sewing area while there are streams of light to soak in!
This particular track is from Katie. Shown here with her serious face.
I laughed a million and one times due to the antics of one nine month old white puppy. She's fearless, always learning, and getting so big these days!
And this sums up the rest. When we weren't outside in the sun, hiking or sewing, we were resting.
Hope you feel refreshed and sparky as we head into a new week!!
Our weekend followed a slow, quiet, easy pace that seemed to be so needed.
The ground froze again, leaving lots of doggy evidence captured in frozen mud to be checked out. Both Sammy and Katie took turns sniffing their own prints as I snapped a few pictures.
That's Sammy's nose, ear, and paw sneaking in this snap.
Here's the print without a nosey dog in the shot. Have I told you I'm a sucker for tracks? They are a great reminder of how we are all connected through the same shared spaces.

And thankfully, she is still thinking of herself as a lap dog. I'm not sure if I will find that cute as she grows beyond 60lbs, but I do relish the fact that she wants to snuggle in my arms!!
Hope you feel refreshed and sparky as we head into a new week!!
