It's Tuesday!! I have to admit that I have been really looking forward to showing you what I came up with this week for Mr. Toast's Creative Tuesday's assignment!
Lookie!! lookie!!
This week's theme is "Little House," which all on it's own sounds pretty darn adorable!
I started by sketching all the types of houses that I could think of ... and well, I wasn't all too impressed with myself. Then I started drawing some of the same houses in a very small scale. I decided that was a bit too literal for the theme.
Then it happened. I decided to try a sketch loosening technique and then freehand. So, with my hand all warmed up I started in with a new idea -- in ink! A bit gutsy on my part as I typically start with pencil and then erase and re-do until I'm happy. Then when I'm satisfied I trace what I like in ink.
Well, not this week. I was bold. I was gutsy. I am loving the results!!
Hope you're feeling creative today too and also don't forget to check out the other artists here.

Love the whimsical feel of your little neighborhood. So many pretty colors and the grass blades and dandalion just shows us how little, this little house is!!!
Happiness is Homemade...That special!!!
I like the finish very much, the colors are great and goes well with each other, and the dandelions are like street lights, a beautiful neighborhood to live in
reminds of the smurf's? do you know that tv show?
Ooooh, this is so sweet! I especially LOVE the dandelion with its little seeds flying and your quote :)
I remember the smurfs! I'm sure they are hiding in the blue toadstool house :)
Cute muhsroom houses, I really like the dandelion, found ya through Creative Tuesday, this is my first week participating!
This is AWESOME! Wow, look what you have created, here! I so love the little houses....made from mushrooms, perfect for CT!

Sweet mushroom houses! And I love the motto beneath your cheery art.
how very, very cute! My favorite part is the dandelion! :)
This is darling. I used watercolors and they did not show up well. I have been so busy making home made gifts I have not had time to draw. Good job.

I've heard it said, "Great minds think alike", but I can't say that really because then I'd be tooting my own horn...well, hey, I'd be tooting it for you too - so, I will claim that and say it for the both of us :)
So adorable. I like how you jumped right in, boldly!
Christie, you've got a whole neighbourhood going on here, it really came to life when you coloured it. Beautiful.
I'm so glad you got gutsy because I'm loving the results too! So cool :)

YouARE so Gutsy and cute too Christie! I just love the way you write and tell us all about your process and the way you tackle things. so very you. I Love this interpretation. In fact, I'd say it's your best on yet and to think you went straight to pen! I know what you mean about doing pencil to start with. I tend to do that too but on the house one I actually started in pen too! So glad you were gutsy and bold here. What great results and glad you got the photo lightened up some too. Love the B&W drawing too btw and that dandelion exploding is the cherry on top of this delightful offering.
thank you for doing this and be sure to check back tomorrow to see the montage.
Thank you so much! I had no idea you would enjoy this so much! Yes, the dandelion was a special finishing touch for me too. I also played a lot with the colors. The finishing touch? I scanned the finished drawing instead of snapping a picture. And yes, smurfs!! I could see them living here :)
Lovely colours in this and great interpretation.
Thanks so much for sharing and for your lovely comments on my blog.
