WIP {Starting Prism and Veggies!}

As promised, here is a better look at the rainbow all put together.  And that's Katie there under the quilt.  I just couldn't resist a photo with her cute little fluffy tail there and wee little bum!  Next steps with this one include basting, quilting, and binding.  You can read more about this one in yesterday's post.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

This Week's Work in Progress (WiP) Stats:
Last WiP Wednesday Total: 8
New Projects: 1 (the hand sewing ribbons)
Finished Projects: 0
Total WiP's: 9

With the rainbow blocks off the design wall I didn't leave the space empty for long.  The triangles for my very own Patchwork Prism jumped right up on the wall.
I am still fussing around with placement and loving it!  I'm also happy that this is going to be a nice and big quilt!  I'm following the quilt along found at Sweet Diesel Designs if you are interested.

This little stitchy was started in a power outage and really came together all on it's own.  Is it done yet, should it be an art quilt mini, a pillow?  I'm not sure yet.
But I have the piece right in my workspace so that it can tell me what it wants next.  It's one of those go-with-the-flow kind of projects and I'm excited to see where it takes me.

And for the sake of sharing all sorts of progress, I wanted to share that my garden is growing!!  I'm smitten that a lot of these plants are coming up from seeds I have sown.  Makes it extra special.

In the bottom of the photo you can see green bean plants and peppermint.  That's the pea trellis toward the back.

And I couldn't resist a sunny photo of the rock pathway.  I have such a sweet spot for rocks and the Mister really hit a home run when he put this garden together for me.  I love that I can bounce through the garden and fuss over a plant or pull a weed without worrying about where my footing is.

In this one, you can see a bell pepper plant and tiny butternut squash in the lower left.  The tall plant about midway up on the left is a rouge peony that's going to be moved.  On the right, you can see a tomato plant and the tiny leave line to the left of the tomatoes is arugula.  I'll be sharing this over at Outdoor Wednesday with A Southern Daydreamer too!

I'm looking forward to more work on both the sewing and gardening fronts!  They both have a way of calming me and making me smile!!

Wishing you a lovely day!

The Rock Wall is Nearly Done

Another busy week in progress, but it's the kind that you get a lot of stuff done and feel really good about it.   And we've been able to pluck away at our rock wall project to the point that it's about done.  Want to have a look?

I just love the look of the rocks interlocking and so neatly stacked!!

Once the design was complete we had to haul away the rocks that we didn't use.  Thank goodness for the little cart on the tractor!  Next steps are to till the garden and top the whole thing off with dirt.  Then I'll be planting and weeding before I know it.

The pups supervised most of the wall building project along the way.  But there was a point that I had to put them inside.... "...how much is that doggy in the window? bark bark"

Here's Katie

And Sammy

Also, I am so enjoying all the daffodils in bloom!!  What a fun surprise as they are all coming up and sparkling in the sunshine.

It's funny how I vaguely remember planting a lot of bulbs in the fall, but by the spring I had happily forgotten where... what a fun surprise!!

Something about seeing all these cheery little yellow faces in a row really just makes my day!!

Almost Friday now... hope the week has been treating you well and you are making fantastic plans for the weekend (and Easter!).

Fish watching the tube

Fish are a funny thing.  They are so different from us air breathers.  And at the same time I get such a huge sense of happiness feeding them, cleaning them, and most days I could just spend hours watching them!!

I think I originally introduced you to my fish here in March last year.

And then later I gave you another glimpse of how cute Titan is here after a much needed tank scrubbing.

Well, the darling fish have gotten an upgrade.  A bigger tank that is.  And Titan (the biggest black moor) has gotten two new friends who need an introduction.

So, Titan is the biggest one.  The smallest black moor I named Twinkle, much to the dismay of Mr. Happy.  You see originally I was naming my fish after American Gladiators... but I went a bit more girly this time.  The gold fish is named Star.

(You name your fish, right?  So, this isn't too weird... right?)

Like I was saying earlier, I spend a lot of time watching these guys swim around, play in the water fall from the filter, chase bubbles, look at the rocks, and interact with each other.  The other day I noticed something.... let me show you what I mean.

They seem to be up to something, don't you think?  Why are they all looking in the same direction?  What are they looking at?

I think. Don't make fun of me... but I think, they are watching TV with me.  Look.  Looks like they are, doesn't it?

They stayed like that for pretty much the full hour of the show House.  I wonder what the show looks like from underwater?  Do you think they can hear it like we can, or does it all get translated it to water ripples?

Seeing fish enjoy the same TV show as me = happiness!

Even more so.... giving my fish silly personalities and names and trying to guess how big they will get = happiness!
