Falling for Fall

Hello, Fall!  My, oh my, have we been enjoying you... let me count the ways!

::  Got to spend some one-on-one time with Katie... even if it was taking her to the vet.
::  We've been staring at the trees, marvelling at the colors, and laughing at the falling leaves.

::  We have been enjoying naps and snuggling on the couch.  Especially when there is a fire is in the fireplace.
::  We have been totally enjoying every minute of football.  It almost doesn't even matter who is playing, as long as it's a good match up.  Bonus points if it's a Giants game and we Giants fans can live the game play by play.  It's not a quiet thing.

::  We have been enchanted by the deep blues of a clear fall day or the clever patterns of the clouds.
::  We have napped in other places.  The four legged babes are dropping off quick from all the time moving outdoors.

::  We've groomed trails for hiking.  Thing are a little tidier and blocked paths are more ready to recieve visitors.
::  I've sewn in preparation for the Pat Pauly art quilting class I am taking tomorrow.  More on that soon!

::  I've continued my hand sewing adventure on the healing cloth that I started earlier.
::  We stopped to play in the sand (at the lake beach).  It was a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the sunshine.

::  The pups were bathed.  It was a long time coming, but Ms. Sammy helped things along by rolling in and attaching poo to her head.  Smelly business.  They are so soft and fluffy now.  It won't last, but it was a nice reminder that they clean up alright!
::  I have packed a ton of my favorite fabrics for the art quilting workshop I mentioned above (the one with Pat Pauly).  It's called Slash and Burn.  I'm nervous... but it's that good kind of nervous.  The kind when you know something special is about to happen!  It's all about improv creating.  I promise I will share more on the experience.

...and as always, if you'd like to see more of what's Happy in the moment... I'm instagramming up a storm; @cwiltex gets you there!

Mohawk's ROCK!

Katie gets a bath just like any 'ole dog... in the tub.

With warm water and shampoo.

She's always been a good bather.  From when she was little we would bribe her with treats, so luckily she now associates towels and running water with cookies (doggie cookies that is)!  Meaning she jumps right in to tub!

I normally try and just get 'er done really quickly.  But for some reason I couldn't resist playing around a tiny bit and giving the sweet thang a bit of a mohawk.  It helps that Mr. Happy happened to pass by and take some snaps for us.
Katie doesn't have a ton of hair on her head, but there is enough there to form a little soapy ridge.

Looking back on these pictures now I am having some crazy mommas guilt.  She doesn't look too happy does she?

(that didn't stop me from laughing a little and I promise she got lots of snacks and that she was a happy camper again when she was rinsed and toweled dry... not too long after these were taken)

I love how patient she is!  How lucky I am that she puts up with me!

Bubbles

My favorite thing for the new year are things that pamper.

I've discovered Lush.  I found out I had one at my local mall.  Haven't heard of Lush... don't feel bad, neither had I.  If you have heard of Lush... gee... why didn't you tell me?

The company is amazing all the way down to vegan things and reducing the amount of trash their company creates.  And if you have been to one of their stores, then you understand how fun it is to wander the place in search of awesome smells and pampering goodness!  In my last trip, I indulged in bubble bars and soap... and some awesome gifts I got to share with family and friends!

Then I used a bubble bar.  Ahh-mazing!

Love the yellow paper.

Love how the paper says not to throw it out, but rather to bring it back and fill'er up again.  Check out how it's made from recycled plastic!!

Love the smell.  It's called Karma.  Divine!

I love the colors.

And check out these bubbles!!  These bubbles make you feel like a rock star, comfort, soothe, and condition the brain all at once!  This particular lushie treat is used by slowly crumbling it under hot running water.

For the moments I don't have the time to take a hot bath, I also grabbed a few bath bombs.  You put them on the shower floor while you do your showering thing... and they slowly release amazing scents to uplift, relax, invigorate, or whatever scent you choose.  Incredible how smell can have so much power over us!

I am happy to have found such a cool company.  You can tell they think about things all the way down to the very last detail.  You can also tell they care!  I appreciate that from a company!

Hope you have found ways to pamper yourself today!
