Falling for Fall

Hello, Fall!  My, oh my, have we been enjoying you... let me count the ways!

::  Got to spend some one-on-one time with Katie... even if it was taking her to the vet.
::  We've been staring at the trees, marvelling at the colors, and laughing at the falling leaves.

::  We have been enjoying naps and snuggling on the couch.  Especially when there is a fire is in the fireplace.
::  We have been totally enjoying every minute of football.  It almost doesn't even matter who is playing, as long as it's a good match up.  Bonus points if it's a Giants game and we Giants fans can live the game play by play.  It's not a quiet thing.

::  We have been enchanted by the deep blues of a clear fall day or the clever patterns of the clouds.
::  We have napped in other places.  The four legged babes are dropping off quick from all the time moving outdoors.

::  We've groomed trails for hiking.  Thing are a little tidier and blocked paths are more ready to recieve visitors.
::  I've sewn in preparation for the Pat Pauly art quilting class I am taking tomorrow.  More on that soon!

::  I've continued my hand sewing adventure on the healing cloth that I started earlier.
::  We stopped to play in the sand (at the lake beach).  It was a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the sunshine.

::  The pups were bathed.  It was a long time coming, but Ms. Sammy helped things along by rolling in and attaching poo to her head.  Smelly business.  They are so soft and fluffy now.  It won't last, but it was a nice reminder that they clean up alright!
::  I have packed a ton of my favorite fabrics for the art quilting workshop I mentioned above (the one with Pat Pauly).  It's called Slash and Burn.  I'm nervous... but it's that good kind of nervous.  The kind when you know something special is about to happen!  It's all about improv creating.  I promise I will share more on the experience.

...and as always, if you'd like to see more of what's Happy in the moment... I'm instagramming up a storm; @cwiltex gets you there!

Giants Football {ALL IN}

I have a confession to make.  I didn't really do a lick of sewing this weekend.  Why you are asking?  Well, football stole my heart (and attention) this weekend as the playoffs began and our team was front and center... the NY Giants.

And, the icing on the cake?  We went to the game!!  happy dance

The new stadium front.

Whoohohooo for the first playoff game in the stadium!

A little taste of just how loud, electric, amazing, insane, and crazy fun it is to be in person!  (and yes that's me that you can hear whooping and screaming)

Here comes BIG BLUE!!!

WAVE YOUR TOWELS!!!

The addition of a big American flag during the national anthem was really touching!

And the game got underway!

A bit later as the Giants were coming in to score.

Yes, sirree.... the first touchdown on the board!

Much celebrating, yelling, and high fives ensued!

At some point during the game I tucked my camera away and really focused on the game and being there, but wowie what an experience!!  And... yes, the Giants won!!  Awesome right?

Any Packers fans out there?  Well, I'm sorry to say, but we are coming for you next.  It's promising to be a great match up -- can't wait!!

And, did you see those towels in the video -- they gave us those for free -- shortly, I will show you what I have done with them to remember the game!

Live the dream again!

Today my big excitement and happiness is coming from this:

And this

I really, really, really wanted to be able to go to my first BCS bowl game this year to see my Horns play.  Alass, I have to be content watching them from my couch on the big screen tonight.

If you haven't figured it out, I'm talking about my passion for college football.  More specifically the coolest team out there... the  Texas Longhorns (University of Texas, Austin).

I have a bit more to say about this, but wanted to start your morning right!

Giants

The camera's are rolling... and ACTION!

Ahh.. a pre-season football game; the weather is warm and excitement in the air as to what the new season will bring. You head in to the stadium early and get as close as you can to see the players warm up and doing drills!

It's hard to say how the Giants are going to do this year, but I had a blast watching them play!

Here is a sneak peak at their warm up efforts!

Wait! That's not a football player... but it's fun to see that all sorts of people can appreciate a good game of pig skin! Go Big Blue!

Mellow Yellow Monday: Giants

Taking in a pre-season Giants game and seeing Feagles warm up with some high kicks = happines!

Mr. Happy is a huge Giants fan so we do what we can to see a game or two each year. Their is a little bit of yellow in this photo and it sure makes everyone happy to see the football soar through those yellow goal posts!

More Giants excitement coming at you this week!
