Falling for Fall

Hello, Fall!  My, oh my, have we been enjoying you... let me count the ways!

::  Got to spend some one-on-one time with Katie... even if it was taking her to the vet.
::  We've been staring at the trees, marvelling at the colors, and laughing at the falling leaves.

::  We have been enjoying naps and snuggling on the couch.  Especially when there is a fire is in the fireplace.
::  We have been totally enjoying every minute of football.  It almost doesn't even matter who is playing, as long as it's a good match up.  Bonus points if it's a Giants game and we Giants fans can live the game play by play.  It's not a quiet thing.

::  We have been enchanted by the deep blues of a clear fall day or the clever patterns of the clouds.
::  We have napped in other places.  The four legged babes are dropping off quick from all the time moving outdoors.

::  We've groomed trails for hiking.  Thing are a little tidier and blocked paths are more ready to recieve visitors.
::  I've sewn in preparation for the Pat Pauly art quilting class I am taking tomorrow.  More on that soon!

::  I've continued my hand sewing adventure on the healing cloth that I started earlier.
::  We stopped to play in the sand (at the lake beach).  It was a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the sunshine.

::  The pups were bathed.  It was a long time coming, but Ms. Sammy helped things along by rolling in and attaching poo to her head.  Smelly business.  They are so soft and fluffy now.  It won't last, but it was a nice reminder that they clean up alright!
::  I have packed a ton of my favorite fabrics for the art quilting workshop I mentioned above (the one with Pat Pauly).  It's called Slash and Burn.  I'm nervous... but it's that good kind of nervous.  The kind when you know something special is about to happen!  It's all about improv creating.  I promise I will share more on the experience.

...and as always, if you'd like to see more of what's Happy in the moment... I'm instagramming up a storm; @cwiltex gets you there!

Falling for Fall

What a fun week... I enjoyed all the excitement over doggy halloween costumes, Creative Tuesday's curtain theme, showing you my renewed footstool, and all the apple cupcake madness and here!!

The weather has turned chilly again in NY and most of the leaves are now on the ground; so, I thought it would be fun to reflect on a few true fall snaps!

And Katie, the Mr. and I want to wish you a ghostly and creepy Happy Halloween!!

Next week, there is so much more to share!

We are carving pumpkins today, I want to tell you about the Declaration of You, I am styling a photo for  STYL.PLAY.WORK.SHOP hosted by Compai, I want to share the Spiced Carmel Buttercream frosting I made, I am crocheting the last few socks for Operation Caregiver, and I am also picking up an unfinished quilting project... phew!

Have a restful and amazing weekend!  See you on the flipside!

Happy Moment #3: Chief Leaf

Happiness is all about "moments"  Don't you agree?

Here is my new Friday game which highlights these Happy Moments!!  I know you want to give this a go this week, don't you?  Humor me?

Here's how it works.  I post a picture of a happy moment, you give it a serious, funny, thoughtful, unique or bananas caption!!

Then take a button for playing!

Ready?  Go!

Happy Moment #3 Chief Leaf

p.s. Oh, and I am looking for a winning caption... might be a little something happy to send to the winner if we can get five players.  Don't you feel like you are at the carnival?  We just need one more player over here... one more.. and then you all get to play for the big stuffed animal.  But, really.  I'm talking happy stuff here.  Come one... come all!!  Winner (if we get enough players) to be announced on Monday!

Katie and the Great Pumpkin!

I could go on and on about how I am loving this fall!  The colors have been B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!

This is a snap from the lake near the house.  It helps all the day's cares melt away!

We also picked out our pumpkin!  It's a big one, with a great carving area!

I'm still not sure what I am going to carve on it, but you can bet it will be something creative!

So, why am I rambling about fall and pumpkins?  Well, ever since Katie joined our family I have been trying to get a picture of her and a pumpkin.  And I think this year I just may have done it.

Here is how the photo shoot went.

Katie didn't really want to go sit by the pumpkin at first, but then she played along.  She's looking at her Dad who is farther away in the lawn.  I still need to see how his pictures came out.

(hint, hint, wink, wink, my darlin' Mr. Happy)

This little thing cracks me up!  She has a leaf on her bottom!

She is such a grown up dog anymore.  I still call her my puppy, but just look at this classic golden look!

Aww, that tongue, those eye lashes... especially those eye lashes!  Don't they just melt you to the core?

This one just might be my favorite.  She still isn't really looking at me... at this point she had had enough, but it shows that spunk in her eyes.

And I can't resist a close up of that adorable little nose!

Do you torture, I mean, capture your pets in holiday type photos?  Any tricks that you could share to get them to work with you?

And tonight... tonight is is exciting.  Katie is going to put on a crazy Halloween costume and pose for more of my goofy photo shoot pictures (I hope!), so that we can enter a doggy costume photo contest we found at AuggieDoggie.com

Seriously, you have got to check out the costumes on the Goldies over there... hippies, flowers, super heros.

It's cuteness overload!  Hope your day is doing amazing things for you!
